Hooman M. Melamed, MD, FAAOS, is a 1999-graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he received a scholarship from the esteemed Morris H. and Gertrude M. Harris Foundation. His postgraduate training includes his internship conducted at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana (1999-2000), an orthopedic surgery residency served at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, where he received extensive training in deformity spine surgery (2000-2004), as well as his Complex and Minimally Invasive Out-Patient Spine Surgery fellowship performed at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center/The Spine Center in Los Angeles, California, where he was honored with the Depuy Spinal Fellowship Award (2004-2005).
